Gardening

Today my mum and I decided to finally tackle the big job that needed doing: the garden.

Even today, we didn’t finish it. But we did put a lot of effort into it.

The front garden after we had tackled a lot of the weeds.

The entire front garden was covered in weeds, so we were at it with our hands, hoes and shovels for a good two hours pulling half of them out. After a while, we did get tired so we put sugarcane mulch down in the corner to stop weeds growing in that specific patch. We would have covered the entire area, but one bale of it costs $20 and it only covered that one area. It would be really expensive to buy multiple bales at this stage.

Mum and I also watered the plants in the front and back so they all had a nice drink to stay healthy. It is winter currently though, so we didn’t give them too much to drink.

Mum and I also finally got around to properly planting our lettuce and garlic into bigger pots.

Here’s some tips on working in the garden!

  1. Wake up early. It is important that you make the most of your day in the garden, wasting no time.
  2. Take only short breaks. You want to stay motivated!
  3. Don’t get sidetracked by other things! Keep working at the task at hand.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Love, Jo.
